Gyanis Technologies Pvt. Ltd. ("Gyanis", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Gyanis Creator Studio platform at creator.gyanis.ai (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Platform as a content creator.
By accessing or using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not access the Platform.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you accept an invitation and create your account.
- Profile information: Display name, biography, profile photograph, contact phone number, languages spoken, and your areas of subject-matter expertise.
- Channel information: YouTube channel URL, channel name, and thumbnail image.
- Content submissions: YouTube video URLs you submit, along with titles, descriptions, topic mappings, tags, difficulty levels, language, pool classification, and any notes you provide.
- Communications: Messages you send to us through the Platform or via email at creators@gyanis.ai.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and screen resolution.
- Usage data: Pages viewed, features used, timestamps of access, referral URLs, and navigation patterns within the Platform.
- Cookies and similar technologies: We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication (creator_session), country preference (gc_country), and device identification (did). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Geolocation data: Approximate location derived from your IP address or geo-headers provided by your hosting provider (e.g., CloudFront, Vercel), used solely for country-specific content and currency display.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- YouTube: When you submit a video URL, we may retrieve publicly available metadata from YouTube (video title, description, duration, thumbnail, channel statistics) via the YouTube Data API v3, subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
- Google authentication: If you sign in through Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture as permitted by your Google account settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your creator account and authenticate your sessions.
- Process and review your video submissions for inclusion on the Gyanis learning platform.
- Generate AI-powered enrichment metadata for submitted videos (summaries, topic classification, difficulty assessment, curriculum mapping) to improve the learning experience for students.
- Display your creator profile and approved content to learners on Gyanis products.
- Provide analytics about your content performance, including view counts, completion rates, and learner engagement metrics.
- Communicate with you about submission status, platform updates, and policy changes.
- Calculate and process any revenue-sharing payments owed to you.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
- Improve, maintain, and troubleshoot the Platform.
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Platform uses the following cookies:

We do not use any third-party advertising trackers, social media pixels, or analytics cookies that track you across other websites.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:
- Learners on Gyanis: Your display name, profile picture, channel name, and approved video content are visible to students using Gyanis learning products.
- Service providers: Google Cloud Platform (hosting, storage), YouTube Data API (video metadata), SendGrid (transactional email), and Stripe or Razorpay (payment processing) -- each bound by their own privacy policies and our data processing agreements.
- AI providers: Claude (Anthropic), OpenAI, and Google Gemini are used for AI-powered content enrichment. Video metadata (not personal data) may be sent to these services for processing. We do not share your personal account information with AI providers.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Gyanis, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained for as long as your account is active. If your account is deactivated, we retain your data for 90 days before deletion, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
- Submitted content metadata: Retained for the lifetime of the approved content on the Gyanis platform. If a video is removed, associated metadata is deleted within 30 days.
- Usage logs: Automatically purged after 12 months.
- Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax regulations.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
- Encryption of sensitive data at rest using AES-256.
- Secure, httpOnly, SameSite cookies for authentication tokens to prevent XSS and CSRF attacks.
- Rate limiting on authentication endpoints (10 attempts per 15 minutes) to prevent brute-force attacks.
- Password hashing with bcrypt and a minimum password complexity requirement of 12 characters.
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
7. Your Rights
7.1 Under the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act)
If you are a resident of India, you have the right to:
- Access: Request confirmation of whether we process your personal data and obtain a summary of your data.
- Correction and erasure: Request correction of inaccurate personal data or erasure of data that is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected.
- Grievance redressal: File a complaint with our Data Protection Officer or the Data Protection Board of India.
- Nomination: Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

Your data may be processed in India, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate. 9. Children's Privacy
The Creator Studio is intended for individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a minor without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. 10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Platform or sending you an email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
